O Captain! My Captain!

So normally I am not one to post on rumors, but I just couldn’t pass up on this one! The newest rumor sweeping through the Geek community is that Nathan Fillion will don the mantle of Captain of the USS Enterprise for the new Star Trek series on CBS All Access that will debut in the fall. Again remember this is rumor only, but lets take a look at some of the reasons this might be true, because for a few minutes lets sit back and bask in the glory that would be if Nathan Fillion were to be sitting here! “The Order” – a reunion project

Ladies and Gentlemen,

How are we today? Good? Hopefully so. I bring you interesting news from the Power Ranger fandom, it looks like we are getting a reunion of sorts… I need to really emphasize the “of sorts” parts here, because at a best we have a SyFy special and at worst we have a pipe-dream. “The Order” appears to be the brain child of Karan Ashley (MMPR Yellow Ranger) and David Fielding (Zordon). I grew up watching Batman and Spiderman on TV watching with bated breath as they fought villains and saved the day. I would read and reread Superhero books and comics until I could recite them by heart, I would pretend to be Peter Parker, struggling to fit in school, find friends and get the girl, but more than that I was also Spider-Man, the courageous hero who was willing to sacrifice everything for others. I would often daydream about what it would be like, to have people cheer when they saw me, to help those in need, to be able to save the day. In those fantasies, I became who I was always destined to be… A Superhero.

Obviously Perfect Films are a much smaller group than Perfect Movies, but still overall, they are elite clubs with few members. Continue reading
