LeBron James and Justin Lin are rumored to be working on Space Jam 2, a follow-up to the 1996 film that starred Michael Jordan. Lin directed four of the Fast & Furious films, starting with 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift through 2013’s Fast & Furious 6. He also directed Star Trek Beyond, which is slated to hit theaters on July 22. His other credits include 2002’s Better Luck Tomorrow and episodes of True Detective and Scorpion. LeBron recently appeared in the movie Trainwreck with Amy Schumer and Bill Hader.
Back in July, LeBron’s company SpringHill Entertainment signed a deal to work with Warner Bros. and added credibility to the long rumored sequel actually getting made. The original film made 230.4 million dollars worldwide, and featured Michael Jordan teaming up with assorted Looney Tunes characters and Bill Murray, to play a game of basketball against invading aliens.
