Disney has been making a ton at the box office lately with live-action remakes of their classic animated films like Alice in Wonderland and The Jungle Book. The trends looks to continue this spring with the release of Beauty and the Beast.
Emmas Watson stars as Belle and Dan Stevens plays the prince turned into a beast and directed by Bill Condon. The first teaser has arrived and while it doesn’t show much footage from the film, it does show some amazing set design work. Watch it below:
Most of this teaser showcases the Beast’s castle before the portrait of the prince is slashed by his claws. The door to the castle opens and we see a silhouette of Belle, we hear Ewan McGregor as the voice of Lumiere, and Ian McKellen who plays Cogsworth. I’m very excited to hear these two sing together.
The final show is the magical rose that is counting down the days the Beast must find true love before the curse placed upon him and his castle becomes permanent. We get a shot of Belle peering at it, and she has no idea what is coming.
The rest of the cast in Disney’s live-action remake includes Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, Kevin Kline as Maurice (Belle’s father), Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster and Stanley Tucci as a grand piano named Cadenza. It’s an exciting lineup and I can’t wait to see a full trailer soon.
