John Boyega has joined the cast as the son of Idris Elba‘s Stacker Pentecost. Brilliant casting and I can’t wait to see what Kaijus and Jaegers they create for the sequel. I have a real soft spot in my heart for the first film, and even though Guillermo Del Toro won’t be directing, he will be producing. The first film had moderate success in the US, but was a huge hit overseas, especially in the Asian markets. Casting Boyega, hot off Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a great way to bring new interest to the sequel. Are you excited to cancel the apocalypse again? Sound off below!
I’ll be taking on the Pacific Rim franchise with Steven S.Deknight directing. Very excited!
From the opening moments of Doom, we are immersed in a nonstop action thrill ride. It’s been over a decade since we last received a proper Doom game. This new version isn’t part of the original canon. It’s sort of a reboot of the series. Doom 3 was criticized heavily as being too slow with a focus on survival-horror gameplay. Doom 2016 melee-kicks that criticism right in the face.
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a Superhero. I grew up watching Batman and Spiderman on TV watching with bated breath as they fought villains and saved the day. I would read and reread Superhero books and comics until I could recite them by heart, I would pretend to be Peter Parker, struggling to fit in school, find friends and get the girl, but more than that I was also Spider-Man, the courageous hero who was willing to sacrifice everything for others. I would often daydream about what it would be like, to have people cheer when they saw me, to help those in need, to be able to save the day. In those fantasies, I became who I was always destined to be… A Superhero.
